Someone needs to finish bottom 25%, Why not Kim?- Anthony Kim reportedly discussed move to LIV
In the ongoing lawsuit between PGA Tour and LIV golf, many interesting things have come to light. And one of them is a possible move to LIV discussed from three-time PGA Tour winner Anthony Kim’s side.
If Kim actually goes on to join LIV, it will be a great loss for the PGA as the 37-year-old American has not competed professionally for the last 10 years and is a fan-favorite for some of his golfing skills, in the same order as the likes of John Daly and Dustin Johnson.
In the recent past, many more exciting and senior players have joined LIV golf, of the likes of Sergio Garcia, Bryson DeChambeau, Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Reed and Pablo Larrazabal.
Despite big names, LIV golf was greeted by empty stadiums in its season-ending finale event for 2022
Saudi-backed rebel league LIV golf has been broadly successful in its strategy so far, luring big names from the golfing world with money power and getting good views by live streaming its tournaments on YouTube despite not having a TV sponsorship deal.
However, in a recent instance, the league crashed to one of its worst lows so far as a tournament it recently held in Jeddah was not attended by a single live spectator on the course. In fact, even the YouTube live audience left a lot of nasty comments under the live stream for the event.
A user on Twitter shared a picture of a potentially exciting final playoff round between Koepka and Peter Uihlein at the Jeddah event, along with an empty field.
All this, even as LIV golf chairman Greg Norman tries his best to compete with the PGA Tour, getting some of the best names to compete alongside each other almost every week.
Funnily enough but in a depiction of a lack of support for LIV, Norman recently also revealed that there are occasions when he feels really bad over affected relationships between him and his golfing friends since he started heading the rebel Saudi-backed league.
